About the writers:

Robert Vaughan leads writing roundtables at Redoak Writing. His writing has appeared in hundreds of print and online journals. He is a Pushcart Prize nominee. His story, “Ten Notes to the Guy Studying Jujitsu” was a finalist for the Gertrude Stein Award 2013. His story “The Rooms We Rented” was a finalist for the Gertrude Stein Award 2014. He is senior flash fiction editor at JMWW and Lost in Thought magazines. His chapbooks are Microtones (Cervena Barva) and Diptychs + Triptychs (Deadly Chaps). His first full- length book is Addicts and Basements (Civil Coping Mechanisms).

Of I Want to Make You Safe (Litmus Press), John Ashbery describes Amy King’s poems as bringing “abstractions to brilliant, jagged life, emerging into rather than out of the busyness of living.” Safe was one of Boston Globe’s Best Poetry Books of 2011. King teaches Creative Writing at SUNY Nassau Community College and works with VIDA: Women in Literary Arts. Check her latest blog entries at Boston Review, Poetry Magazine and the Rumpus.

Amy King will be reading poems from her forthcoming book THE MISSING MUSEUM, and poems penned in the spaces between us, “You asked me for the virtual realm once, and I gave you the entire Internet on a platter.”

Bud Smith grew up in NJ, and currently lives in Washington Heights, NYC with a metric ton of vinyl records he bought at a flea market for $1. His books are the short story collection, Or Something Like That, the novel Tollbooth and the poetry collection Everything Neon. His writing has appeared at The Nervous Breakdown, Wordriot, the Bicycle Review, among others. He hosts The Unknown Show; edits at JMWW and Uno Kudo; works heavy construction in power plants and refineries.
