“The reason why [I’m an artist],” Colin Dodds says, “is that it’s a chance to be my best self, my smartest self, the part of me where I’m able to put my mind or my soul into fifth gear in a way that life just doesn’t allow; and in those moments, it’s almost like you can accelerate past perhaps your own death even and find something that would qualify as transcendence; and that’s what makes it worth it.”
Check out the rest of Colin’s conversation on BUT I DIGRESS: HOW WRITERS MAKE IT WORK, Michael Hickins’s podcast, where they talk about art, storytelling, media saturation, Colin’s writing, some of his books and upcoming projects, and more besides!
